How Can We Help You Say “I Am UU”?

Thomas here with a request for our community. We have several new projects in the works. We plan to expand the website. We randomly feel inspired to create new designs for Cafe Press. We have so many ideas, and there are so few of us. It gets overwhelming thinking about the possibilities. So we are asking you to help us: What do you think we should be working on?

What aspects of I Am UU do you currently find useful? Would you send people to our ABC’s of UU page as an introduction to Unitarian Universalism? Are you following our Tweets? Have you seen the Cafe Press store, and what do you think of the offerings? Do we post too much on Facebook, or would you like to see more links, more pictures, or more inspirational messages?

We started out on Facebook, and that seems to have peaked in popularity for now. We launched this website about a month ago, and it gets visits every day, and new posts are being read. We have a Twitter with followers but not much interaction (it doesn’t get the attention it used to) and a Tumblr blog with a few fans. (Incidentally, Tumblr and Twitter have different content than Facebook because I am really bad at getting things cross-posted.) The Cafe Press shop is meant to supply you with wearable chalices, and people have taken advantage of that. We’ve got links to all of that on every page of the website, by the way, if you would like to check out a new tool. I’m going to point out that we also have a Tip Jar, because people have asked in the past. (it’s near the bottom on the right)

We aren’t concerned with more fans; that will come if we are being helpful. We aren’t concerned with making money, either. This is a labor of love, and we’ve managed not to burden our volunteers so far. What we want is to be inspirational and to support a community of outgoing and passionate Unitarian Universalists. We want to help them be good examples of what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist, and to try to live up to our lofty Principles. Are we doing that? How can we do it better?
