The I Am UU project does not take money for advertising products or services. We don’t even monetize our Facebook page, so you should not see ads there.
We are not sponsored by the UUA, either, and no congregation has editorial control over our work, though many have supported us or purchased shirts from us.
We do not charge for people to reprint our work in their newsletters or even on their own websites as long as they credit us and link back here.
BUT! What we do takes time, skill, and money. Websites are not free, nor are computers or software licenses. And we go through a LOT of caffeinated beverages.
And Thomas takes classes to make sure that the things they publish are accurate and engaging. Thomas has over 150 hours of UUA training in Spark Modules, ARAOMC training as a UUA volunteer, and Our Whole Lives facilitator training. That is on top of studying Nonprofit Leadership and Communication in college. Now, Thomas has been accepted into Seminary, but that is an expensive commitment…
If you want to help fund the I Am UU project and Thomas’ continuing development, here are some options for doing so:
- Support the I Am UU project directly on Ko-fi by just giving us a few dollars, either once or set up a monthly gift.
- Buy a t-shirt, mug, or sticker from the I Am UU Shop. (We don’t make much, but we want things to be affordable….)
- Follow Thomas on social media where they do earn money
- Become a Patron of Thomas‘ and support their development more directly.
And, of course, your comments and shares of what we publish matter a great deal. We are so grateful that we have the reach that we do, even without paying Meta to push our posts on people. The impact will be much greater if your friends ask you about Unitarian Universalism than if they come to the page; we do not know every congregation and how they operate or conduct worship. That is why your shares are the real goal of the project.
